6.5.2022 Being Real

“The world of reality has its limits; the world of imagination is boundless.” Jean-Jacques Rousseau

This morning’s ‘Daily Trip’ meditation on Calm was around being real.

We put so much effort into making good impressions, putting on the right face, wanting to say and do the right thing. I’m not saying that we shouldn’t think carefully about our words and our actions. But it’s important to know who we are. I believe that it’s helpful to other people for them to see and hear the real me. I’ve often said that I only do honest.

It can be really hard when I can see that certain changes would benefit a horse or a person, but that person is not ready or able to hear the information or to take action. I try to share knowledge and education in a way that is sensitive and helpful, but I know I don’t always get it right.

Every so often someone tells me how much of a difference my words have made to them, or to their horse, and knowing that I have helped someone encourages me to keep going.

So if I say something in the wrong way, please don’t take offence. Please know that my intention is good.

What one piece of knowledge would you like to share that could make a difference to someone’s life?
