Inspired by Dr Deb Dana’s work on Polyvagal Theory, I explore the Stretch–Stress–Survive Continuum — a simple yet powerful way to understand how our nervous system responds to daily life. From moments of healthy challenge to complete overwhelm, recognising where we are on this continuum can help us move back toward calm and connection. In this blog, I share how small acts of awareness can make a big difference to our well-being — and ultimately, to the well-being of those we care for, including our horses.
